Alex O’Loughlin and Jennifer Lopez in The Back-Up Plan

August 11, 2009 by Jane Boursaw

I watched the short-lived vampire series “Moonlight” not long ago, and fell in love with Alex O’Loughlin, who played Mick St. John.

Along with starring in the new CBS TV series, “Three Rivers,” you can catch O’Loughlin in “The Back-Up Plan,” in theaters Jan. 22, 2010. It stars Jennifer Lopez as Zoe, a woman who decides that after years of dating, she’s had enough. She decides to become a mom via artificial insemination. But on the day of her appointment, she meets Stan, played by O’Loughlin, and he’s got real possibilities.

She tries to nurture a relationship with Stan and hide her growing baby bump, but when all is revealed, Stan says he’s in for the long haul. Their courtship includes a wild night of threesome sex – Stan, Zoe, and the massive pregnancy pillow; a date night of watching someone’s water birth; and realizing they really don’t know each other outside of the hormonal madness. Will their relationship survive this ultimate test?

It looks like a cute movie, and a little twist on the romantic comedy theme. We’ll see what kind of chemistry  Lopez and O’Loughlin  have on the big screen.

Thanks for the pic. I will see The Back-Up Plan because Alex O’Loughlin is in it. From all the YouTube Videos I’ve seen on set of TBUP, it looks like a winner. It looks funny, a bit intense, and with lovable Alex, completely adorable. I look forward to seeing it January 22, 2010. I still don’t understand how a tractor comes into play since I’ve seen them film only in Pasadena, CA and NYC. Alex, down on the farm, yum.
