Hollyscoop.com is going after the cool video market, aren’t they? They hit the “Pride And Glory” movie premiere in New York City and got the speed-scoop from the cast, including Edward Norton, Colin Farrell, and Jon Voight, on why we should NOT miss this movie.
Directed by Gavin O’Connor, the gritty drama follows a family […]

"The Incredible Hulk" Bonus Features - VIDEO

“The Incredible Hulk” hits store and cyber-shelves tomorrow, and I’ve got a few clips of the bonus features. We really did like the movie in this household, and just watched it again on DVD. Though the storyline lacks a little something, the special effects are awesome. And the 3-Disc Special Edition DVD features over two […]

"Sleeper" Gets a Writer

“Sleeper” has landed a new writer, Brad Inglesby. The DC Comics/Wildstorm graphic novel was picked up for adaptation by Warner Bros. in August. It’s scheduled for a 2011 release.
The Hollywood Reporter describes it as a “high-tech noir series published from 2003-05 that puts superheroes in a stylish, hard-boiled crime saga not unlike […]

New "Max Payne" Stills

If you’ve been reading Film Gecko for a while, you know I’m nuts about Mark Wahlberg. Practically anything he does, I’m there for. “Shooter” didn’t get a ton of press, but it’s one of my favorite movies of 2007. I didn’t receive a screener DVD when it came out, so I actually went out and […]

"Lethal Weapon 5" - Dead in the Water?

You know, I’ve never been all that keen on another “Lethal Weapon” movie. I was on-board through “Lethal Weapon 3,” because that’s when they brought in Rene Russo as Lorna Cole. One of my favorite scenes of all time is when she and Mel Gibson are comparing wounds and then end up rolling on […]

Gordon Gekko Making a Comeback

It looks like Gordon Gekko might be making a comeback. Is greed still good? I guess we’ll find out.
The “Wall Street” sequel, called “Money Never Sleeps,” is being written by Allan Loeb, who wrote “21″ and created the Fox TV series “New Amsterdam,” which I’m still miffed about being canceled.
Michael Douglas, who […]

Frank Serpico - Blogging In the Woods

I’ve been reading New York Magazine’s 40th Anniversary Issue, and there’s a little story in there about Frank Serpico, the real-life Brooklyn-born cop who inspired 1973’s Serpico, starring Al Pacino.
Serpico (pictured), who exposed corruption among fellow NYPD officers during the late 60s, retired 36 years ago and lives off pension and disability payments. […]

Josh Brolin in Talks for "Jonah Hex"

Yet another DC comic character is coming to the big screen — Jonah Hex, a confederate cowboy, gunslinger and bounty hunter whose face is partly disfigured.
Do you get the idea that filmmakers are seriously running out of ideas, so they’re going into the comic book vault to make or remake every character […]
