Clint Cleans Up As Producer/Director

by Erin Harvey on December 13th, 2005

Clint Eastwood’s set to have quite the new year to celebrate, if his awards schedule for January 2006 is any indication, his 75 years aren’t slowing him down one bit. The rough and tumble acting legend is due to be honoured both by the Director’s Guild of America, and the Producer’s Guild of America.

The DGA will bestow its Lifetime Achievement Award on Eastwood in recognition of his work in the big black chair. It’s sometimes hard to forget that aside from his roles in western films, that he has made some darn fine movies over the past 3+ decades. Among the recent ones are Oscar winning Million Dollar Baby, Mystic River, The Bridges Of Madison County, and Unforgiven.

The PGA meanwhile, wishes to give Mr. Eastwood their Milestone Award, for his continuing contributions to the film industry. Hard to argue against that.
