Clint Eastwood, Matt Damon reteam for Hereafter

September 17, 2009 by Jane Boursaw

Clint Eastwood and Matt Damon seem like an unlikely pair, but they’ve just worked together on “Invictus” and already have their next project in the works. Filming is set to begin this fall on “Hereafter,” a supernatural thriller directed and produced by Eastwood with Damon in the lead role.

The Peter Morgan project was originally acquired by Dreamworks, but after gaining the interest of Eastwood, he decided to move it to his home base at Warner Brothers, with the blessing of DreamWorks founder Steven Spielberg. He’s no stranger to Eastwood projects, having worked with him on both “Flags of Our Fathers” and “Letters From Iwo Jima.”

"Invictus" is set in South Africa, and Damon plays rugby player Francois Pienaar. That’s set for a Dec. 11, 2009 release.

I admire the work of both of these prolific actors, and I’m looking forward to seeing Damon’s “The Informant!,” in theaters this weekend.
