Does Extract need a little extra spice?

I haven’t yet seen “Extract,” Mike Judge’s new workplace comedy that takes place in a flavoring extract company. But MSNBC’s Gene Shalit seems none too excited about it, noting, “It’s hard to believe this movie was made on purpose.”
Yowza. That’s some fightin’ words. I’ll still see it, but that’s a disappointing review. And by the way, what the heck is that on the table behind Meredith Vieira? It looks like a figurine of a baby made out of twigs, resting in a hollowed-out coconut shell.
