Don Johnson Travels to "Rome"
I’ve always been a big fan of Don Johnson. Loved Miami Vice and Nash Bridges, and Tin Cup is one of my all-time favorite movies (great soundtrack).
This photo was taken at the Broad Contemporary Art Museum opening on February 9, 2008 in Los Angeles. He looks older and wiser, doesn’t he?
Johnson has done a few European movies, but has mostly been absent from theaters in recent years. That will change with his role in Disney’s When in Rome.
He plays the father of Heroes‘ Kristen Bell, who steals coins from an Italian fountain and then finds herself the object of attention from numerous strangers who threw coins into the fountain. No relation to the classic movie, Three Coins in the Fountain.
More after the jump…
Johnson describes the movie as “Capra-esque, but with a modern and very contemporary spin on the fun and the comedy.”
Of his return to film after doing TV for many years, he says, “The climate has changed in that there’s very few slots for dramas or for the things that I wanted to do. I didn’t want to do another cop show, though I would consider something if it were international in scope and global in nature.”
Doesn’t really matter to me. If he’s in it, I’ll probably watch it.
