DVD Giveaway: Wizards of Waverly Place: Wizard School
THE DVD: We LOVE the Disney Channel around here, so were pretty excited when Wizards of Waverly Place premiered last fall. The characters are fun, the storyline entertaining, and there’s always a good message about doing the right thing.
The show revolves around Alex (Selena Gomez) and her two brothers, Justin (David Henrie) and Max (Jake T. Austin). They’re just average kids living in NYC except for one thing: they’re wizards in training! This DVD includes four episodes, including when the kids adopt a pet dragon, try to learn the ropes at wizard school, and attempt to charm their parents into letting them use more magic. 90 Minutes. Rated TV-G. Bonus Feature: Behind the Scenes with the Cast.

My son LOVES this show! Of course I love what my son loves, he watches the same episodes again and again and STILL loves them every time of course telling me about what is going to happen like I really don’t know.

Any show with a great female lead like Gonzalez helps make this a hit with our family-there are so many programs available that don’t feed into possible empowerment of our girls and boys! Clearly, everything can’t be a message-oriented program but there are so many ways to avoid the crass and dumbing-down attitude that so many other shows for school-age kids think is funny! But I guess Disney wouldn’t be Disney if they weren’t thinking hard and offering brand-name experience with smart and effective marketing, right?
