Gary’s Trailer Park
More time-wasting goodness for Film Gecko readers!
~ It was the first post in this blog back in the day, and it’s finally coming to pass!! Rent fanatics should be singing in the streets thanks to the Rent theatrical trailer and the rapidly approaching release. I just thought I’d bring it up again to send musical lovers into spasms of excitement.
~Huge news for SuperFans! Your first look at the man in tights is now available in teaser form at MovieWeb.com. Let me know what you think about Brandon Routh as the lead in Superman Returns. You’ll have to wait until 2006 for the full film.
~ Coming January 27 is the Big Momma’s House 2, so if you want to have a sneak peek at what Martin Lawrence has to offer this time around, the trailer is now available.
~ Judi Dench returns (to my joy!) in Mrs. Henderson Presents where she swaggers as a theatre operator during World War II who introduces what is now a staple into her on-stage shows: nudity.
~ If you’ve ever wanted to see Sir Anthony Hopkins in a motorcycle movie, and I mean, who hasn’t, World’s Fastest Indian promises to make you a very happy biker. Based on a true story, Hopkin’s character is a Kiwi with a need for speed and a love for mods.
~ Scare freaks should have a peek at the trailer for The Hostel, an Eli Roth-directed Quentin Tarantino presentation about what happens when you go budget.
~ All the Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn relationship theorists should see if those two have the chemistry of Jolie and Pitt (and subsequently blow it way out of proportion into a mind-numbing soap opera of celebrity scandal) in The Break-Up. Hopefully Aniston has better luck with Vaughn than she did with Clive Owens.
Now these aren’t trailers, but they’re pretty close, so I’m exercising my contributing editor rights and including them here. Lar von Triers Manderlay, which isn’t due in theatres until February, has gifted Apple and iPod users with a free look at the first 10 minutes of the movie downloadable from Apple and iTunes.
Also available is a clip from Yours, Mine, Ours (which opens this weekend), from the helpful folks at MovieWeb.com.
