Hannah Montana Movie Sets Presales Record
Yeah, yeah, yeah, we all know Hannah Montana is a hot ticket on the Disney Channel. But she rocks the house in theaters, too.
“Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert in 3-D” dominated online movie ticket sales on Wednesday, a day ahead of its debut.
Keep in mind that the movie — a filmed version of Miley Cyrus’ 2007 concert with dad Billy Ray Cyrus — is opening in fewer than 1,000 theaters AND the tickets are going for $15 — at least in my flyover town of Traverse City, Michigan.
Yeah, I’ll be there tomorrow with two tweens in tow, so you’ll hear all about the movie from me this weekend.
Fandango.com reports that “Hannah Montana” was the site’s best-selling concert film ever, selling out more than 1,000 showings and accounting for 91% of sales as of Wednesday morning.
I’m not usually a fan of 3-D, but I’m hoping it’s not too obnoxious and will make it seem like we’re AT the concert.
