"New Moon" Casting for Native Americans

by Jane Boursaw on January 17th, 2009

I have "New Moon" casting news, straight from Lana Veenker’s blog, The Casting Scoop.

While Veenker’s team did some of the casting for "Twilight,"  they are NOT casting for "New Moon." But after exchanging emails and phone calls with Summit Entertainment and the new L.A. casting company, they were able to talk with the new casting director who’s been hired specifically to cast the Native American roles.

René Haynes is helming the Native American casting on "New Moon," and she’s interested in hearing from anyone who fits the qualifications of the roles.

Read the scoop, after the jump…

SEEKING NATIVE AMERICAN TEENS AND YOUNG ADULTS

Casting Director René Haynes and her staff are very happy to accommodate any Native teens and young adults (who look very youthful) who are interested in sending them an audition.

To be considered, email a recent photo and your contact information to [email protected]. Note that they are NOT currently seeking submissions for any roles other than the ones mentioned here, so only respond if you meet the above requirements.

The film calls for Native American teens and young adults, so that’s whom the casting directors want to see. The most experienced, trained, legal-to-work actors who fit these specs will be given first priority. Also, this casting call is for the Native American roles only. Submitting for any other roles in the film will only waste your time and the casting office’s.

DO NOT CALL THE CASTING OFFICE.

What happens next? You’ll be sent a package that has specific instructions, as well as the deadline, which is Jan. 30, 2009.

HOPE THAT ROBERT KEEPS ALL THE PASSION HE HAD IN TWILITE..THIS YOUNG MAN HAS MORE PASSION IN HIS SPIRIT THAN ANY ACTOR HAS HAD IN A VERY LONG TIME…IF HE KEEPS IT REAL IN NEW MOON IT WILL EVEN BE BETTER THAN TWILITE…..
