  I haven’t heard anything yet! I am so glad they are making a second movie though. I am planning on seeing Twilight again. I just can’t get enough of it. It’s a bad bad addiction.

  Yeaa. They are definitely filming late January/ early February. That’s a fact, on IMDB it says: New Moon 2010. and i can’t remember where, but i read somewhere they start in January/February.

  Yes. The audition is very very very likely to be Closed. Since Jane is such an important role, they like to audition girls who are with an agent, (it backs them up). They probably won’t let randoms come and audition. With such a big production with little time to complete, (probably wanting their Jane/Alec to stay young), they wouldn’t want to waste their time auditioning randoms who proabably can’t even act. Which is really the major point. I don’t know why you’re all stressing about: omg i’m this age, this colour hair/this length, this height, these eyes, these lips, blah blah blah….. ACTING is what will REALLY sawy those casting directors.

  lolz i know I have professional acting experience which is why I am getting so snappy. Just getting into character for something…anyway she is young and it was acceptable in olden times to kiss someone on the lips as a sign of friendship or welcome

  They didn’t cast Jane yet. They are looking for girls ages 14-20. The most important thing is your talent and experience. It is an audition, but not exactly open. Your agent has to schedule the audition and you have to either send in head shots or meet with the casting director before the audition. It doesn’t matter what color hair you have or your age, as long as they can make you LOOK like Jane with make up or hair dye, that is not a concern at all.

  Take some polaroids to your local agencies. Once your in, get head shots taken. Usually they will do your hair and make up, they did for me. After this get them to contact new moons casting director. You will not get any information out of them until they research your agent and you because there are a bagillion 15 year olds wanting to play Jane.

  Logan, yeah you need an agent no matter what.

  You really should have experience, but again im not a good person to give advice for that. My whole family has done stuff through the agency im with now. Experience in anything is good though. If you even have done a few plays and commercials that is experience. The agent is who can make an audition happen.

  I find out next Tuesday where im going and the exact day and time. Ill email whoever left me there email address with the information i get.

  OH man, I dont realize how many people write stuff on here daily. Sorry i dont get back to you guys sooner. Uhm, I dont deal with the payments.. I think just the meeting on tuesday is like $750. But im pretty sure that covers pictures and stuff like that also. I did talk to my uncle, who has worked with the agency for years, and he told me that it is not hard to start working with an agent that hard part is finding one. DO SOME RESEARCH, the best thing to do is start small and work your way up. Even if your just acting at a local theater, agents go there and look for talent. If they find you, its always better.

  You shouldn’t have to PAY for an agent.
  I’ve been to many top agencies and they all say the same thing, which is it’s a scam if they make you pay. HOWEVER, unless it’s for headshots, makeovers, training, and things like that. Otherwise it’s a scam. Just be careful and look into it because my mom and I have lost a lot of money off of scams…

  I seriously SERIOUSLY doubt they would cast a different Jacob Black. They picked Taylor thinking ahead. Wanting someone who could play in the next films if there were any. They even had him and Kristen do chemistry readings straight from the New Moon book. Taylor is here to stay (and personally I’m glad).

  It would be really cool if Jodelle Ferland played the part of Jane. She’s alot younger than I pictured Jane being, but I’m not picky about things like that! She’s a good little actress and just beautiful! Plus she already knows Kristen Stewart. She played the little boy ghost (yes, boy) in the Messengers.

  Just so you guys know, its not easy to get an agent. I just fired mine a couple of months ago and have interviews coming up, but it really isn’t just about saying ‘oh, i’m going to get an agent’. Not to be mean or anything, just to help….
  Ps>you dont pay agents. They get you jobs, then after you do the job, they take 15% of the profit from that job

  hey Nicole! your the one who lives in UK right? i have the same dilema as yours i also live outside of the US, i’m from the Philippines, and i would LOVE to play Jane in the next movie, especially now that i think the movie is better than the book! Like it just fits in the big screen perfectly like titanic!sad to say i read this interview about the casting director of twilight, and she said there that you have to have valid working permit in that country if you are really interested, because they won’t do that for you. Plus, they won’t pay for your travel, you have to move in or look for a place to stay which is near the shooting location at your own expense.

  They are just being reasonable and business wise! Oh well, there is still Eclipse and Breaking Dawn! Better start saving money for plane tickets! LOL

  ABOUT SIGNING WITH AN AGENT:
  This is not an easy task. It takes a lot of hard work and researching. Typically, you would locate an agency in your own state (or LA, if you’re feeling competitive and talented) who you think you’ll want to work with. Find out who the talent agent is, call them up, and see if you can schedule an audition. Once you’ve set the date the agent will probably tell you what you’ll need to have prepared for him/her when you walk in the day of (probably a dramatic and comedic monologue). Go into the audition prepared and natural; be yourself *important!* After your showcase he/she will ask you some questions, and at the conclusion of the meeting, they’ll tell you if they want to work with you or not. THEY SHOULD NOT ASK FOR MONEY! If they do, run…like friggin’ Edward Cullen. If they say no, thank them for their time, walk out with dignity, and move on to the next agent on your list.
  If you DO get signed, congratulations. But the work starts then. GO TAKE SOME ACTING CLASSES AND LOOK FOR SOME CASTING CALLS IN YOUR AREA! You need to build your resume before you go auditioning for huge roles like ‘Jane’ or ‘Alec’ (I’m in the middle of this phase).
  Getting casting calls is not that easy either. Casting Directors have goals that they need to reach, too. They are hired specifically to find talent that meet the director’s visionary criteria for the role/part/character (aka Breakdowns); you may have an agent and he/she might get the casting call notice, but you won’t hear anything about it because you don’t fit the ‘type’ they’re looking for, so keep that in mind.

  …I hope that answered a lot of questions casting and agents…? ;]

  thank you teendreamer! you have no idea how much that helped… i feel like i have somewhere to start now! when your looking for an agency, where exactly do you look? and what do you look for in it? i did a lot of research online, and tried to find an agency closer to home then L.A., but would it be better if i looked for one in L.A.? would the internet be the wrong place to look for an agency i would potentially want to sign with? i tried to look for some of the students from the agencies i researched, to see if i recognized them from any shows, movies. etc…. it seemed like that would be good because that means they get a lot of business, right? remember, i’m new at this, so even though my questions may seem basic or downright silly, your answers have really helped! Do you go to an agency in California? because i might look into it if you do, you seem pretty knowledgeable in this area, that must mean you have a good agency.
