Your home entertainment system that is… Smash hit documentary March of the Penguins is out on DVD. I went to see this in the theatre and I can honestly say that I really enjoyed it, and so did the children that were in there with me, so it seems like a good film for mixed company, and something to keep the little ones amused. Cute, clean fun.
For older kids, and young adults at heart there’s a trip to Sky High, where the super kids of super heroes go to learn the tricks of the trade. For Will Stronghold though, high school just ain’t fair; he’s teased, tormented and ignored for his lack of super powers, a fact he must hide from his popular parents.
Silly, but adult humour abounds in Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo, as Rob Schneider returns as a hapless male escort, this time on a whole new continent. Watch him entertain quirky Euro chicks with his usual bumbling charm.
Action/adventure fans (and celeb fanatics) shouldn’t feel left out this week because Mr. and Mrs. Jolie….I mean Mr. and Mrs. Smith, is now on DVD. Watch two very pretty people make the assassin business looks damn good from the comfort of your very own living room. Just do it with the blinds closed, the neighbours don’t want to have to watch you drool.
Almost forgot! Documentary number two on the slate this week is Murderball, a critically acclaimed look at the aggressive, steely world of quadriplegic rugby at the Athens Olympics. It received a good deal of attention at Sundance and is supposed to be quite the experience.
