Now Available on DVD - Oct. 11th
New week, new list of movies now available for rent!
Orlando Bloom fans, and those of us who love films loosely anchored in history, will be happy to know that Kingdom of Heaven is now out on DVD. Set in the Dark Ages of the 12th century amidst the turmoil of the Crusades, a young blacksmith finds both daddy and destiny in Jerusalem. Didn’t do so hot in theatres, but I’m a sucker for armor, and will rent it myself in the next little while.
If comedy is more your style, check out Will Ferrell as a soccer dad in Kicking & Screaming. A healthy dose of father-son rivalry and the highly competitive world of children’s recreational sport (no, really) make for hilarity on the pitch.
Fancy a little action? Jet Li’s brutality laced film Unleashed is now at a rental location near you. Glasgow’s underworld scene is spotlighted in this gritty thriller about a gang enforcer (Li) who knows no other life thanks to his imprisonment and “education” at the hands of the man who raised him since boyhood.
Also out are:

- The Bridge of San Luis Rey
- Starring Gabriel Byrne as yet another priest, this time looking for the reasons behind a bridge collapse. A Thornton Wilder adaptation.
