Review: “You, Me and Dupree”

by Leora Israel Zellman on July 20th, 2006

Today my husband and I went to see “You, Me and Dupree”. The all-star cast includes Owen Wilson, Matt Dillon, Kate Hudson and Michael Douglas in this hilarious comedy about a loser best man who comes to live with the newlyweds just after their honeymoon.

I laughed my butt off, but felt the movie hit a little too close to home. See Matt Dillon’s character has two annoying close friends, one Dupree (Owen Wilson) and Neil played by Seth Rogen. They’re both really sweet and well intentioned but when together they revert back to their immature high school days just like some other best friends I know.

Michael Douglas’ character is hilarious as the over protective father of Kate Hudson’s character, but sheesh he’s really getting older! He looks more and more like his dad Kurt Douglas every day!

And Kate…Oh Kate! I love her so much in this movie! She does a great job AND does it in cute little skimpy outfits. hehe.

As a side note Lance Armstrong makes a Cameo in the flick playing himself. If you’re a Lance fan like myself wait until the end of the credits because there’s a cute last scene!

Check out these pics from the movie:

P.S.: We found out today that if you go to The Old Spaghetti Factory (At least in Richmond BC at Silvercity) and order food you can buy discounted movie tickets from them and save like $5! :)
