Saw III Coming 2006
File this in “Surprised? You shouldn’t be.” The producer of Saw and Saw II has already made it known that he and his team have every intent to make a third and even more gripping Jigsaw thriller.
Geoff Hoffman talked to fans in the House of Jigsaw forums, saying that Saw III, though it had no confirmed cast and no director, would hopefully be ready for next year. Sounds like yet another rush job for a genre that really needs to have some sparky, quality material injected in order to avoid becoming stagnant.
Everyone I’ve talked to about Saw II has said it was a waste of money and time (take this choice quote: “To its credit, the film rockets toward its conclusion with scant downtime. It’s come and gone before you even know it, and, like death, that’s a good thing.”). Considering Saw II’s less than stellar reception, I think that Mr. Hoffman is putting the cart a bit before an already dead horse. Sure you had the Saw fans run out in droves to see the sequel, but Jigsaw is now working in the dangerous territory of a sequel’s sequel, and risks losing its audience (not to mention whatever lickings of critic favour). I hate floggers. Hollywood is full of them at the moment and really, after one sequel (a cruddy one at that), you wouldn’t catch me, dead or alive, sitting through Saw III. Hopefully for Hoffman, fans of the genre and of Jigsaw will be a little kinder.

saw was way better than saw II, even though saw II was still a pretty good movie. but leigh whannel in the first one was awesome!!

I disagree with this ‘preview’. Even though saw II wasn’t better than saw, it still was a pretty good movie if u compare it with al the other lame horror movies that are in theatres nowadays. However, they kinda rushed the release date for saw 3, and it could be dangerous for the sequel, cause they may not had much time to develop a great plot like the ones in the first and second movie.

OMG!! SAW 2 Was WAYYYYY BETTER THEN SAW 1, All they did on saw 1 was talk, talk and more talk, there was no killing’s untill the end, it was all based in one room and had a C Class Acting Crew, Even though saw 2 does aswell, saw 1 bored me, but saw 2 was AWESOME!

Wow… you people take these movies way too seriously… I’m 14 and enjoy movies for their purpose: ENJOYMENT!!! Who cares which one is better, because they both were box office hits. I’m happy a third one is coming out and don’t care which one is better because I’m just gonna have another reason to hang out with friends by seeing a movie :)
