Spielberg to Bolt From Paramount?
If Steven Spielberg was associated with your production company, wouldn’t you do everything possible to keep him? I would.
Insiders say the mega-filmmaker is considering a split with Paramount. Apparently, the first six months of marriage between Paramount and his own Dreamworks left much to be desired.
Although their co-films such as Transformers, Blades of Glory, and Disturbia were successful, DreamWorks execs complained they were being denied sufficient development funds and accolades for their projects, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
At one point, Spielberg and company, unhappy with an annual production fund of $300 million, got Paramount to increase it to $400 million. Then Paramount demanded…

Paramount execs believe they still have a shot at keeping Team Spielberg at Paramount, but insiders say he may walk when a bargaining window opens on May 1. Talk around town is already heating up over the fall-out of such a move.
