Angelina Jolie visits Iraqi refugee camp
October 2, 2009 by Jane Boursaw
Celebrities don’t have to do good things with their fame, but Angelina Jolie uses her celebrity status for good in the world. As the Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Refugee Agency, she’s been visiting with Iraqi children in a refugee camp near Damascus, Syria.
Jolie and Brad Pitt are in Syria visiting refugees which total 1.2 million in the country. Here’s my little part to draw attention to this humanitarian crisis: a photo of the star playing with Iraqi children…

Last week, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, among others, attended the Los Angeles premiere of "Inglorious Basterds" at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles, California.
Brad and Angie looked fabulous, as always, and it’s nice to see that Sarah Silverman got dressed up for the occasion, isn’t it? The movie hits theaters August 21, 2009.

New Pics of Angelina Jolie on the set of Salt
May 27, 2009 by Jane Boursaw
I’ve got some new pics of Angelina Jolie on the set of her upcoming movie “Salt.” She plays Evelyn Salt, a CIA agent who (maybe) doubles as a Russian sleeper spy and has people after her believing she’s out to assassinate the President.
The film also stars Liev Schreiber as Winter, Evelyn’s ally in the Russian office of the CIA, and Chiwetel Ejiofor as Peabody, a counterintelligence agent who wants to bring her down.
It’s directed by Phillip Noyce, who knows what he’s doing with this genre. His other movies include “Clear and Present Danger,” “The Saint,” and “Patriot Games.” “Salt” …read more

Who’s your favorite action movie star? – POLL
April 1, 2009 by Jane Boursaw
I just posted about a poll conducted by Sky Movies on the top action movie stars of all time. Sigourney Weaver took the number one spot, which is very cool, considering she was the only female on the list!
So I thought we’d do our own poll here on Film Gecko. Be sure to vote, and tell me your reasoning and/or favorite action movie in the comments below. And if your favorite star isn’t there, feel free to add him or her to the list!

Sigourney Weaver voted top action hero – You go, Girl!
April 1, 2009 by Jane Boursaw
Believe it or not, Ellen Ripley – a.k.a. Sigourney Weaver – has been voted the No. 1 action hero of all time!
Yeah, I believe it. She rocked in the “Alien” movies, and that’s a pretty awesome achievement when you consider that she beat out Arnold Schwarzenegger (2nd place), and Sylvester Stallone and Chuck Norris (tied for third place) in a poll conducted by British cable channel Sky Movies.
Matt Damon, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Bruce Willis and Steven Seagal also made it into the top 10. Each star was judged on five categories: weapons, one-liners, kill count, creative ass …read more
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie – Are the rumors of fighting true? - VIDEO
April 1, 2009 by Jane Boursaw
For my shameless celebrity gossip story of the day, I’m putting the spotlight on mega-stars Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. It’s rumored that they’re fighting, sharing separate beds, and heading for splitsville. Or, depending on the source, they’re talking marriage and thinking about adopting another child.
One of my questions is, who’s the "inside source" that’s telling the separate bedrooms story? I’m convinced it must be Maddox tipping off the press. Anyway, what do you think? Think the rumors are true? And if so, which ones?!
New Pics of Angelina Jolie in "Salt"
March 4, 2009 by Jane Boursaw
How DOES Angelina Jolie do it all?! I know, probably lots of help and a big entourage to help take care of all those kids.
Jolie is starring in “Salt” as Evelyn Salt, a CIA agent who (maybe) doubles as a Russian sleeper spy. Yes, I had to look up that term. According to Dictionary.com it’s “a spy or saboteur or terrorist planted in an enemy country who lives there as a law-abiding citizen until activated by a prearranged signal.”
But Evelyn’s got people after her who believe she’s out to assassinate the President.
Jolie took over the role from Tom Cruise, …read more
