Emily Blunt shooting a scene for The Adjustment Bureau
September 29, 2009 by Jane Boursaw
Actress Emily Blunt (recently engaged to John Krasinski) was spotted shooting a night scene for “The Adjustment Bureau” on the chilly streets of New York City.
The film, which also stars Matt Damon, follows an affair between a politician and a ballerina who are kept apart by mysterious circumstances. Hmmm … sounds mysterious … and a fun sci-fi thriller, too.
It’s directed by George Nolfi based on a short story by Philip K. Dick. No release date, but I’m guessing sometime in 2010.

Clint Eastwood, Matt Damon reteam for Hereafter
September 17, 2009 by Jane Boursaw
Clint Eastwood and Matt Damon seem like an unlikely pair, but they’ve just worked together on “Invictus” and already have their next project in the works. Filming is set to begin this fall on “Hereafter,” a supernatural thriller directed and produced by Eastwood with Damon in the lead role.
The Peter Morgan project was originally acquired by Dreamworks, but after gaining the interest of Eastwood, he decided to move it to his home base at Warner Brothers, with the blessing of DreamWorks founder Steven Spielberg. He’s no stranger to Eastwood projects, having worked with him on both “Flags of …read more
The Informant! Trailer – All kinds of goofiness with Matt Damon, George Clooney and Steven Soderbergh
September 14, 2009 by Jane Boursaw
You don’t usually see Matt Damon being goofy in the sorts of crime/conspiracy movies he does. Think “The Bourne Trilogy.” Awesome movies, but not exactly a laugh a minute. But when you’ve got him as an actor, George Clooney as the executive producer, and Steven Soderbergh as the director, anything can happen.
That’s the lineup for “The Informant!,” coming to theaters Sept. 18, 2009. It looks darn funny, and I think we can all use a laugh about now.
It’s a true story based on the book by Kurt Eichenwald, about an agri-business corporation accused of price fixing. The star …read more

September 7, 2009 by Jane Boursaw
Actor Matt Damon and his wife Luciana Barroso walked the red carpet at the 66th Venice International Film Festival. The occasion? His new film “The Informant’ was shown at the festival.
Director Steven Soderbergh’s film, a true story based on the book by Kurt Eichenwald, follows an agri-business corporation accused of price fixing. The star witness is vice president turned informant Mark Whitacre (Damon). Scott Bakula and Patton Oswalt also star in this film, scheduled for a Sept. 18, 2009 release.
Damon has found a nice niche with these sorts of intrigue / conspiracy / political movies, and I’m looking …read more
Bourne 4 gets a writer
August 21, 2009 by Jane Boursaw
A fourth installment of Universal’s “Bourne” franchise is on the way, and a writer is hard at work on a script. Well, ok, I have no idea if he’s hard at work, but at least he’s been tapped to work on it. Josh Zetumer has signed on to pen the installment, scheduled for a 2011 release.
It’s an interesting turn of events that brought him to the script. George Nolfi, who worked on “The Bourne Ultimatum,” was originally tapped to pen the fourth entry, but had to step away because of his work on “The Adjustment Bureau,” based on …read more
Who’s your favorite action movie star? – POLL
April 1, 2009 by Jane Boursaw
I just posted about a poll conducted by Sky Movies on the top action movie stars of all time. Sigourney Weaver took the number one spot, which is very cool, considering she was the only female on the list!
So I thought we’d do our own poll here on Film Gecko. Be sure to vote, and tell me your reasoning and/or favorite action movie in the comments below. And if your favorite star isn’t there, feel free to add him or her to the list!
