A Star is Born remake in the works

Apparently, my answer to “Will they ever stop remaking old movies that were great to begin with?” is “No.” Now a remake of “A Star is Born” is in the works from Warner Bros. I guess it’s one of those evergreen stories that can be done each era.
Three previous incarnations starred Janet Gaynor (1937), Judy Garland (1954), and Barbra Streisand (1976) as a young, up-and-coming songstress who falls in love with an established male entertainer / rock star, only to see their careers move in different directions.

Fast & Furious helms take on Highlander

Summit Entertainment announced last year that they were rebooting “Highlander,” and now the project has a director and producer.
Justin Lin (pictured with Vin Diesel in July, 2009) and Neal Moritz, who directed and produced “Fast & Furious,” respectively, will do the same for “Highlander.” Jamie Sonderman had been rumored to be onboard as director.
The original 1986 film starred Sean Connery and followed immortals who battle for supremacy while living seemingly normal lives in the modern world.

The Taking of Pelham 123 – Preview & Trailer

John Travolta stars in "The Taking of Pelham 123," and it’s kind of a different role for him. He plays a bad guy! Travolta’s character, Ryder, hijacks a NYC subway train and holds the passengers hostage. Meanwhile, mild-mannered dispatcher Lt. Zachary Garber (Denzel Washington) is having a really bad day.
Directed by Tony Scott, "The Taking of Pelham 123" is rated R for violence and pervasive language, and scheduled for a June 12, 2009 release. Also stars John Turturro and James Gandolfini. Note: This is actually a remake of a 1974 film starring Walter Matthau and Robert Shaw. Hmmm, I’ll …read more
