Ashton Kutcher in new sex comedy Spread

July 8, 2009 by Jane Boursaw

Ashton Kutcher seems like he’d be a fun guy to hang out with. I wonder what life is like at home with Demi Moore. They must have a blast together. And between those two and Bruce Willis, they’re like the poster family for blended families.
Kutcher is starring in a new sex-romp comedy called "Spread," about a guy who goes through women like nobody’s business. Until he meets that certain woman (Margarita Levieva) who’s bound to change his perspective on things.
Directed by David Mackenzie, "Spread" also stars Anne Heche, Sebastian Stan, Sonia Rockwell and Maria Conchita Alonso. It’s rated … [Read More]

Film Gecko Five: Best Mickey Rourke Movies

February 1, 2009 by Jane Boursaw

I loved “The Wrestler,” and it made me think back to my favorite Mickey Rourke movies. Here’s my top five below. See if you agree and if not, tell me your favorites in the comments section.
5. “Diner” (1982). Rourke played Robert “Boogie” Sheftell in this classic that also starred Kevin Bacon, Timothy Daly, Daniel Stern, and Steve Guttenberg. The movie is set in 1959 Baltimore and follows a bunch of college-aged guys on their journey into adulthood. [IMDB Page]
4. “The Rainmaker” (1997). Big fan of John Grisham books and movies here, and this is a fab film directed by … [Read More]

Mickey Rourke Talks "The Wrestler" with David Letterman – VIDEO

January 21, 2009 by Jane Boursaw

It’s fun to see Mickey Rourke back in action. He’s so unconventional and just says whatever he feels, which is refreshing in the world of Hollywood spin doctors.
And ooh, if you want to see a sexy movie, check out "Wild Orchid." Yowza. Rourke and Carre Otis were a couple at the time the film was made, and rumors still persist that the sex scenes were real (though Otis denied it in a 2004 interview).
Here, Rourke talks with David Letterman about snagging his comeback role in "The Wrestler," in theaters right now.

Penelope Cruz in London after the screening of her sexy new movie

January 4, 2009 by Jane Boursaw

Here’s a pic of Penelope Cruz, in London after the screening of her new movie. The caption doesn’t say which movie, but I’m guessing it’s "Elegy," in which she gets involved with a cultural critic, played by Ben Kingsley. Based on the Pulitzer Prize-winner Philip Roth’s short novel, "The Dying Animal," the movie begins as a sex-charged relationship and evolves into a romance. Also stars Dennis Hopper, Patricia Clarkson, and Peter Sarsgaard.
