Universal and Dark Horse Sign 3-Year Deal
Universal is now the home of Dark Horse, one of the biggest independent comic book companies outside of Marvel and DC Comics.
According to a Hollywood Reporter story, the two companies just inked a three-year production and distribution agreement, which gives Universal access to all Dark Horse Entertainment characters and properties, as well as anything Dark Horse might acquire on its own.
In exchange, Dark Horse can finance projects that are ensured of distribution. Seems like a win-win.
Dark Horse characters already adapted for the screen include “The Mask,” “Barb Wire,” “Timecop,” “Mystery Men,” and this summer’s “Hellboy II: The Golden Army.”
