Val Kilmer in for "The Steam Experiment"
I haven’t seen Val Kilmer in any of his recent movies, but he won me over with his role as the damaged, fiercely loyal Doc Holliday in 1993’s Tombstone. It’s one of those movies I can see over and over, and still come away with a deep admiration for his acting abilities.
Yep, that’s really him in the photo, in Felon, a prison flick that had a limited release in July, 2008.
Now he’s joined the cast of The Steam Experiment, an indie suspense thriller also starring Armand Assante, Eric Roberts, Megan Brown and Patrick Muldoon.
More after the jump…
Directed by Philippe Martinez, the story revolves around six people trapped and terrorized in an urban Turkish bathhouse. Kilmer plays a former university professor who overheats his hostages to prove that humans will devolve into chaos under the pressures of global warming (an eco message!). He tells a detective (Assante) that their location will be revealed only if his hypothesis is printed on the front page of the local paper.
How much heat can a body take? I’ll look forward to finding out when this film is released. And Val Kilmer as a crazy person? I’m in.
